Houses for Hazardous waste

Turnkey delivery and rapid installation.

The installation time for the solution is 2-3 days. All you need to do is connect electricity.

Flexible, modular and fast

The modules are designed and certified for storage of hazardous waste, so that hazardous waste is separated and responsibly stored. The modules can be combined into exactly the size and design you need. The completed modules provide a cohesive solution.

In principle, all of the modules for hazardous waste are designed as standard Modulo Beton modules. The big difference is that the module for hazardous waste is delivered with a base, so that the module is sealed and completely fireproof.

The modules from Modulo Systems can be set up quickly. No foundations are needed, because the modules are erected on an existing level underlay.

If additional capacity is needed later, extra modules can easily be added.

Vats and elephant grating

The modules are supplied with spill-proof vats with overlying elephant grating. The elephant grating in each module is divided into four compartments, and is delivered with individual 1,100-litre spillage trays that can be removed and cleaned.  The elephant grating has a load capacity of 1,500 kg/m2 (365 kg concentrated load) as standard, but can be supplied with the required load capacity.

The modules are supplied with a concrete surface, but can have any cladding required, e.g. wood, fibre cement or other panels

The concept is delivered with BD60 steel fire doors for double doors and single doors, as well as the smaller doors at emergency exits.

Indretning af rum til farligt affald

Modulo Systems’ architects and engineers are specialists in the interior design of buildings for hazardous waste, and can handle the process from the very first ideas and sketches until the project is up and running. We advise, plan, install and commission – and thereby take full responsibility for the project from start to finish.

Hazardous waste is still a problem after delivery to the local recycling station. The waste emits toxic fumes that are a health hazard for the recycling station’s employees, and these fumes must therefore be removed. To fully comply with Sections 38 and 42 of the Danish Working Environment Act, point extraction should be installed in the individual vats and containers into which the problematic waste is sorted.

Ventilation and point extraction for hazardous waste

A typical installation has ventilation pipes suspended from the ceiling, along all the walls of the room. T elements with flexible hoses are installed at 80-cm intervals to the point extraction solutions below.

Point extraction for casks and vats

Our specially designed lids for casks and vats ensure constant extraction – even when they are open. The lids are supplied in spray-painted aluminium. Each lid comes with a practical mounting that makes it quick and easy to change casks. The lids are supplied for 60-, 120- and 220-litre casks.

Point extraction for 600-litre container

The solution is supplied as a bay together with a suction lid where the container is placed. The pneumatic lid, supplied as a split lid or single lid, can be lifted easily by pressing a button. The solution is executed as spray-painted steel panels, and ensures constant extraction from the container – even when the lid is open.

Oil bar

The oil bar has been specially developed to enable personnel to handle waste oil easily and safely. The oil bar is connected to the ventilation system, and automatically removes the toxic fumes while the waste oil is being handled. Smaller quantities are poured straight into the oil bar. Larger quantities can be collected with the accompanying suction stick. The oil bar is connected to a 1,000- or 1,500-litre external tank. The oil bar is made from spray-painted steel panels.

Safety cage

Safety cage for pesticides, nitrate-based fertiliser waste or other waste that must be stored under lock and key.

Extraction hood

The solution can include an extraction hood above a shelf or table used for temporary storage or sorting.

Emergency shower

For rapid administration of first aid, and to minimise permanent injury from accidents involving hazardous media, emergency showers are provided. An emergency shower is a combined body shower and eye and face shower, and is always installed in rooms used for hazardous waste.

EX lighting

The lighting in a room receiving hazardous waste is implemented as EX lighting, depending on the building’s zone classification.

Automatic fire-extinguishing system

We can supplement the solution with automatic door closing if a fire breaks out, as well as automatic ceiling-mounted ABC dry powder fire extinguishers.
